From the moment that you arrive at the entirely grand reception area of the Abbey Beach Resort you feel like you have “arrived.” With outstanding facilities without doubt the Abbey Beach is an excellent opportunity for families looking for an overnight getaway (as we did) or a more extended holiday stay. You can use the Abbey Beach to explore Busselton, or further afield the gorgeous Margaret River Wine Region! Our family really recommends the Abbey Beach Resort as a great Busselton accommodation.

Abbey Beach Resort Busselton Review
As the largest resort in the South West of Western Australia, Abbey Beach Resort lacks for nothing. Each large room has a spa and balcony, there are a couple of restaurants on site, and there is not just one but three pools!
There is a good kid’s playground on site and the beach is only 2 minutes’ walk from the resort. The rooms generally have views of either the pools, or the ponds, which are filled with ducks.
We were there for the indoor heated pool, which is definitely one of our favorite indoor heated pools in the South West of Western Australia.
The Room
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment and roll away bed option which offered us oodles of space without breaking the budget. There are a range of options on offer including hotel style accommodation right through to large 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom beachfront apartments. They also have wheelchair accessible apartments.
Our Abbey Beach Resort room was very new, well maintained, clean and large. With a spotless presentation and brand-new furniture we loved staying here. The kids adored the spa, and the room was an excellent value for money in our opinion.
Meals at Abbey Beach Resort
One of the reasons we chose Abbey Beach Resort (apart from the heated pool) was that it is self-contained. That is, it has a small kitchen in each apartment. For families on a budget this is a great way to save money while still enjoying their holiday!
In addition, we enjoyed a tasty meal at the Reflections Poolside Restaurant which offered a good range of kid friendly options.
For those looking for an elegant night out, there is a happy hour on the weekend. There are bars in the reception area, and the location of the Atrium Restaurant, with the big windows, is unique. This Atrium Restaurant looked like it would be a great place for a romantic dinner!
Things to do at Abbey Beach Resort
The main attraction for us was the heated pool, where we spent a lot of time. The kids were also happy to go for a swim in the outdoor pools, which were quite cold.
There is a children’s playground near to the beach, and then there is the wonderful natural playground that is Geographe Bay Busselton.
Location
The Abbey Beach Resort is located 7 km out of Busselton city, about 10 minutes drive. It is about 20 minutes from Dunsborough and is perfectly located to explore the entire Margaret River region. For what to do in Margaret River with Kids read more here.
