There’s camping, then there is glamping – and then there are luxury wilderness experiences; more like a safari tent in Africa.
There are companies using world class camping equipment, others using the traditional ger or yurt from the steppes of Central Asia and Mongolia, and others using the entirely romantic bell tents or tee pees.
There is a massive range in what ‘glamping’ incorporates which means that it can be confusing to know which option is best for you! What we do know is that your next glamping adventure is going to be an amazing experience in idyllic surroundings!

What do Glamping Experiences have in Common?
- An opportunity to reconnect with your natural surroundings.
- Beautiful landscapes.
- Camping in a tent or not permanent structure, close to the outdoors and open area.
- The opportunity for a digital detox. If you are brave enough to turn off your phone! A detox is easier in some places rather than others as they have no phone reception!
- Most glamping spots are near to national parks and make the perfect base for short stays and exploring further.
Not all Glamping Experiences Include These:
- Private bathroom with hot shower – others include a shared bathroom.
- How established the tents are – permanent glamping experiences are large and solid. (eg, some are very luxurious accommodation – some are not)
- Amenities. Is there a restaurant nearby, with chef? Some glamping experiences also have an infinity pool (here’s looking at you Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm)!
- Standard of service. Some places are like resorts with polished service and an activities program. Others are quite simply camping.
Several of the moveable tent experiences use public campgrounds where you share the toilets and showers and cook in a communal kitchen. These are far more like conventional camping than the super luxe glamping resorts like Sal Salis and the Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm.
Why Go Glamping?
Without a doubt, glamping is a great first step for people who would like to get more in touch with the environment but aren’t sure about a full camping experience themselves. If I haven’t convinced you yet take a look at five reasons you should go glamping! You don’t have to put in the muscle work of setting up the tent, it’s all there, you just arrive and its set up like a hotel room. Therefore, by glamping, you get the exhilaration of sitting outside your tent by a gorgeous multicolor fire, and enjoy the bite of fresh morning air when you walk out of the tent after awaking. It’s the perfect place to under the stars and in the fresh air; with many of the creature comforts of home.

Rottnest Island is famous for its perfect location and pristine beaches just a short boat trip from Perth. Rottnest is well-worth visiting, whether you camp or visit on a day trip! Making this one of the best glamping getaways if you are looking for something different. Rotto, as its known to locals like us, is the place you go to relax, swim and snorkel.

Glamping Exmouth WA
There are few amazing glamping experiences near Exmouth WA that worth mentioning. Whether it is a luxury glamping experience you are after, or experiencing a working cattle farm in the Australian outback, Exmouth glamping can accommodate.

2. Sal Salis Luxury Safari Tents
Sal Salis offers a total of 16 off-grid luxury safari and wilderness tents. And, being that it is located just 50 meters from Ningaloo Reef, Sal Salis is an Exmouth glamping experience that is not to be missed!
Each glamping tent includes a private eco-bathroom and gorgeous views out over the World Heritage Ningaloo Reef. Sal Salis is truly a luxury glamping Exmouth experience. Included in the price are all meals, beverages and many activities like snorkelling, paddle-boarding, and kayaking.

3. Bullara Station Safari Huts

The Billi Resort offers gorgeous, self-contained luxury glamping tents. Each one offers free wi-fi, a private outdoor deck, air conditioning, and a kitchenette. If you are looking for a true glamping experience in Broome, The Billi Resort is worth checking out.
Located in the tourist section of Cable Beach, the Billi is a luxury escape. With lush gardens and a glorious outdoor pool, you could easily spend all your time enjoying the property. However, it is within walking distance of Cable Beach and many restaurants and eateries.

5. Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat
The 30 eco-friendly tents at the Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat are another great glamping Broome option. Located just 1.5 hours south of Broome.
With stunning views across the Kimberly Coast, Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat allows you to be close to nature while still enjoying creature comforts like a king size bed and air conditioning.
Each tent has a dining area, and food may be prepared in the shared self-catering tent, which has a refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, and BBQ. There is an onsite Jack’s Bar and Restaurant as well as a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the Kimberly Coast.
One of the unique things about this Broome glamping option is that you can arrive via boat. That is right, Eco Beach Wilderness Retreat offers mooring for guests arriving via boat.

6. Divers Creek Farm
Divers Creek Farm is only accessible by 4WD, located approximately 1km from the main pearling village. Choose from 3 different types of glamping tents, including the family rainforest safari tent that sleeps up to 4 people total. Each glamping tent has its own ensuite and there is a separate shared camp kitchen. Complimentary breakfast is included with every stay.
If you don’t have access to 4WD, you can choose to stay in the main Pearlers Village in a village safari tent. Each is outfitted with a king bed, an ensuite, air conditioning, and a complimentary breakfast as well. Plus, it is closely located to the main homestead, which houses the reception, restaurant and pool.

The Kimberley Glamping Options
7. Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge

Karijini National Park
8. Karijini Eco Retreat
Famous for its natural beauty, deep gorges, and unique landscapes. Karijni National Park is the second largest national park in Western Australia, covering 627,422 hectares. It is ranked in the top 5 visitor experiences for the state.
It’s located 1,500km north of Perth and around 80km north-east of Tom Price. Given it is a long trip to get to Karijini and traditionally only available for independent campers, the Karijini Eco retreat means more people can enjoy this unique experience.
Right in the heart of Karijini National Park, this environmentally friendly retreat and campground offers deluxe eco tents fully equipped with beds, linen, lanterns, and fans, Also offers a private en suite bathroom and an outdoor deck area to enjoy the native bush views.
Their newest, top of the range Luxury Eco Tents offer you bespoke design, local Aboriginal artwork, air conditioning/heating and a private ensuite bathroom with stone bench tops. There are only 3 tents in this glamping category. They accommodate a maximum 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children up to 12 years old.
Another luxury camping option are the Deluxe Eco Tents with solar powered lights, private ensuite bathroom and continental breakfast. These are semi-permanent structures that were built using ecologically sustainable principles and recycled materials. They can easily be erected and dismantled in remote areas with little impact to the natural environment.
Karijini Eco Retreat also offers standard camping (ie, not glamping) for the independent traveller. The campsites are suitable for tents, camper vans and caravans. The sites are unpowered so that the resort can maintain its eco-status.
While at the Resort, you should definitely eat at the Karijini Outback Restaurant, which is an alfresco outback-style restaurant, featuring traditional bush tucker. (That’s Aussie for food!)

Margaret River Glamping
The centre of glamping in Western Australia is around Margaret River, with a lot of glamorous camping options. For example, you can stay in your own private dome at Mile End Glamping or stay near the olive groves at Olio Bello lakeside glamping.

9. Two Blind Cows Glamping
A great option to experience the beautiful Margaret River region, Two Blind Cows Glamping has 3 luxury tents the paddocks amongst a forest grove at Woolrabunning Farm. What a way to escape the stress of everyday life in a farmland setting.

10. Mile End Glamping, Yelverton
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, then you should check out the luxury glamping domes at Mile End Glamping. These geodesic domes include a private bathroom, kitchen, king bed, as well as an adjacent deck with an outdoor bath.
Located in a 144-acre estate of native bush, this is your best option to try out glamping if you do not want to sacrifice comfort. Located in Yelverton, about 20 minutes north of Margaret River, Mile End is in the heart of the wineries and a perfect spot for lots of exploration.

11. Olio Bello Lakeside Glamping
Another wonderful spot for your Margaret River retreat, or base for winery tastings or purchases of local produce, is Olio Bello. They offer six luxurious safari-style bungalows amongst the olive trees and around the lake of the organic olive farm of the same name.
They also have a great restaurant on site and a showroom for Olio Bello products, including olive soaps, beauty products, and olive oil.

12. RAC Margaret River Nature Park
At the heart of Margaret River (literally next door in Wooditjup National Park) are the RAC Margaret River Nature Park’s ‘safari tents’. Sleeping a maximum of six, these permanent canvas tents feature one double bed and two bunk beds, perfect for a family getaway. 13. Jesters Flat Glamping Tents

14.Willow Wood Glamping Retreat – Busselton
Willow Wood is Busselton’s first dedicated glamping accommodation, a 10-tent retreat on a 100-acre farm.

Moveable Glamping Option Locations
There are several companies around Margaret River, Yallingup, and Dunsborough that offer moveable glamping options. That is, you pick the campsite, they do the work to set up the elegant tents with comfortable mattresses, indoor furnishing and lighting (that sounds like fairy lights to me)!

Wild Goose Camping have gorgeous bell tents with comfy mattresses topped with extra blankets to keep you warm.
16. Soul Camping
Soul Camping are other company located in the South West that offer glamping and mobile camping. They do the hard work of setting up the tents, and you get to enjoy camping under the stars in luxury. They also offer bell tent,s and you pick the location.

17. Serenity Gully – Bridgetown
A brand new off-grid glamping accommodation experience in the South West of Western Australia is at Serenity Gully.
These 5-star tents have been designed for minimal impact on the environment and on you. Each is spaced 150 metres from the other for your privacy, which you will want when you are soaking in
your private outdoor stone bathtub! Imagine sliding into a hot bath, local wine in hand, while you watch the sunset across Bridgetown.
Bridgetown is also a hot new destination for those in the know – an easy drive 3 hours South of Perth. Bridgetown has an amazing main street full of boutiques, art, and some yummy food too. We have stopped for a spot of shopping recently and ended up going home with some beautiful new looks.

18.WA Wilderness Glamping – Pemberton
Glamping in Pemberton, Western Australia, was a wonderful way to connect as a family and get out and experience nature! However, let us say, the idea of going glamping in Pemberton with kids during the middle of winter was a little challenging! With expected overnight temperatures around 5 degrees Celsius, we were apprehensive that it would be cold and uncomfortable!
We shouldn’t have worried. From the time we arrived, we were wholly impressed with the camp setup from WA Wilderness at Fonty’s Pool Caravan Park, also the site for the annual Truffle Kerfuffle.
This was the perfect Permberton glamping spot. We were there to enjoy a weekend of fabulous food from the southwest and of course, do some truffle hunting! The kids were charmed by little hot water bottles and kids camp chairs! These touches certainly made the experience catered to their size!
Going camping is about being outside in the great outdoors! We spent much time outside, during the day and night, which in itself is a nice change from being at home in winter.
The nights were particularly special; rugged up in beanies, jackets and gloves, we were able to see our frosty breath. We gazed up at the expanse of stars out above us, including the fascinating Milky Way. If you are like us and not to sure of your constellations, WA Wilderness provided a star chart which was handy!
A complimentary bottle of red greeted us on arrival. However, it didn’t cause the same levels of excitement as a bag of marshmallows. We got a little bonfire going in a safe fire ring, and the kids were in camping heaven, toasting marshmallows. With their faces shiny red and full of happy anticipation, this is the kind of experience that takes you back to your own childhood. By doing this camping experience, we hope we are also creating those special moments that our kids will remember for a lifetime. All in all, this was a great Pemberton glamping experience.

Stargazers Farm and Cottages are located near the Donnelly River between Pemberton and Nannup in Western Australia’s South West, and offer several types of accommodation.
Their recently renovated cottages are perfect for families, while those couples looking for a romantic getaway might be keen to try their glamping suites.
These luxurious camping options each have a personal jetty onto the lake, private deck, private outside bath and king size bed. Possibly my favorite feature (for those chilly Southern Forests nights) is an inside pot belly fireplace!

20. Woody Island Safari Huts
Woody Island Eco Tours provides Esperance glamping accommodations for stays on Woody Island. The safari huts provide a basic glamping accommodation with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed with a pull-out attached trundle bed.
This accommodation is perfect for families wanting to stay on Woody Island without the hassle of setting up their own tent. Linens and towels are provided.
