Lunch in Busselton
The Equinox Restaurant is located right beside the Shipwreck Playground and with views of the water. The Equinox under the pine trees offers great family favorites like chips, pizzas and pasta. It also offers a delicious dessert cabinet. Definitely, a place that works for families. Parents can order and then have a break while the kids play nearby. They are almost in your vision – depends where you sit!
People rave about the ambiance, and food at the Good Egg. There is a section for kids to play and upstairs has space to hire for digital nomads or those working while on the road. The Good Egg is definitely on our “must-do” things to do in Busselton for our next trip!
For us, the most iconic place for lunch in Busselton, and one of the best restaurants in Busselton was the Goose Restaurant located right at the famous jetty. Famous for all-day breakfast, burgers, and local Australian produce – all with a beachy vibe. Even if you just want to soak in the atmosphere – milkshakes and coffees were yum! In early 2021 this famous restaurant was gutted by a fire. We can only hope that it will reopen soon! This was one of the dog-friendly restaurants Busselton!
Places to Eat Busselton
Both Equinox and the Goose are (were!) great places to enjoy an evening meal in Busselton.
Now somewhat shadowed by huge Shelter Microbrewery is the iconic Esplanade Hotel, near the jetty which used to be “THE place” to enjoy an evening drink. The Esplanade Bistro is still a relaxed place to eat, and especially family-friendly with pizza, steak, burgers, fish and chips, and other family faves. You can sit out on the front deck or in the restaurant.
Another pub that serves up great Busselton food is the Ship Inn, also one of the oldest pubs in Busso. Check out their current offers. In the past, they had a “Thursday Kids Eat Free” promotion with the purchase of a main meal. They have a huge beer garden and pets are welcome.
Busselton Chinese Restaurants
There are several Chinese restaurants in Busselton including Dynasty Chinese, Great Wall Busselton, and the Jade Chinese Restaurant which is located on the food strip of the Bussell Highway. This is the section between the Ship Inn, Dominos, and McDonald’s, and Hungry Jacks.
Dog Friendly Busselton Restaurants
Apart from The Equinox, the Goose, and Ship Inn listed above; these are some of the other dog-friendly Busselton restaurants to take a look at.
The Urban Coffee House is a few blocks away from the main street and very popular at the moment. Known as a great place for a coffee or a complete meal, it has comfy couches as well as tables in the inside section. The outdoor section is where your pooch is permitted – as long as they sit by your side and behave themselves.
Located out of town, and closer to the Port Geographe Marina is the Sensations Café which is pet-friendly and has awesome views of the marina.

Amelia Park Tavern
Halfway between Dunsborough and Busselton is the Amelia Park Tavern. The locality is Abbey, and it’s very close to the Abbey Beach Resort. The Amelia Park Tavern has been on our bucket list for a while. It is a gorgeous building with great big lawns and it looks lovely all lit up at night. Inside the tavern is richly decorated in European-style furnishings and a wonderful location for a smart, yet intimate dinner.
On the other hand, there is an alfresco kitchen in the beer garden. It offers more like Australian pub-style fare. Such as fried mac and cheese, Korean fried chicken or cheesy fries and gravy as well as wood-fired pizzas. Please note; the Amelia Park Tavern is not pet friendly, no dogs allowed.
We should mention that if you are looking for somewhere classy and exclusive to stay, you might consider the Amelia Park Lodge, which looks very nice!
