The world’s most remote city
Without doubt Perth is one of the world’s most remote cities on earth – but it is also an awesome holiday destination.
Perth is bounded by the Indian Ocean on one side and the Australian Outback on the other – there’s no city of a similar size anywhere in the world – which is why Perth is considered so remote.
Perth folk understand and believe that they are blessed to live in one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth, and from the city proper there are multiple day trips from Perth and opportunities to some truly spectacular and unique places like the Pinnacles, the fascinating Penguin Island and the delicious Swan Valley.

Best time to visit Perth
Perth is further north than Sydney, so it’s worth mentioning that it becomes unbearably hot in the summer months, especially January and February. There are weeks were the weather reaches 40 degrees every day! (That’s over 104 Fahrenheit) And while these months are when Australian families have time to travel, due to the Australian school holidays, we strongly feel that planning a March through May visit will help you see the best of Perth, without the heat!
Or, why not consider the springtime, we love September through November in Perth, and don’t
forget that in September Kings Park’s wildflower festival brings a splash of colour to the city and
surrounds; by November the jacaranda are blooming and it’s another of our favourite times in Perth.
You can visit Perth in the winter and be greeted with a temperate, though slightly wet offering. It
should be added that Perth is worth a visit all year around, offering a really good climate, even in
winter when you can get sunny days.
Fun places to go in Perth
A visit to Perth would not be complete without a trip to Rotto, as the locals call it. Rottnest is the island named for the tiny rat like animals that we know today as a Quokka, and your Perth holiday Instagram feed would not be complete without a selfie with a quokka! An incredible island getaway without the price tag!
Apart from Rottnest, Perth’s beaches are spectacular, and offer the truly most stunning sunsets! A range of wildlife parks, like Caversham Wildlife Park and Yanchep offer the chance to get up close and personal with kangaroos and koalas and more local native animals.
Last but not least, a great place to get to know Perth is from the world’s biggest inner city park; Kings Park which offers great views of the city and a bush experience right in the centre of the city.
