These are the very BEST things to do in Margaret River with kids. For many of the Margaret River attractions – like Caves, or Beaches, we have given you a “Northern” or “Southern” option, so that you can minimize your travel time around the Margaret River area
Wooditup (Margaret River) is the centre of the of Wadandi Boodja (country), a meeting place between land and sea.
Over a series of short stays, we would have spent at least 2-3 weeks in the Margaret River region; we have visited during school holidays (yes its busy!) and during quieter weeks. However, if you are short of time we have taken the headache out of researching, here is our hit-list of kids activities Margaret River for a short stay of 2-3 days. Visiting Margaret River when its rainy or in the cooler months? We have a full guide of the Best Things to do in Margaret River in Winter. Why Take our Advice for Things to do in Margaret River with Families?
We are Western Australian locals – we have holidayed in the Margaret River area once a year (or sometimes twice a year) for the past 10 years, since we moved back to WA. We’ve taken babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers and now the oldest kid is a tween… We’ve spent a lot of time around this area – and recently too! So when you are taking our advice know we have a lot of experience in Margaret River with kids, and kids of a range of ages!
We realize that things change all the time, and so it’s really important to us that we provide the most up to date information possible! That’s why we go through our pages annually making sure they are as current as possible. As always, if you notice something that’s not quite right, please let us know in the comments!

How to best plan your Margaret River family activities?
As locals to Western Australia we are here to tell you that if you are a first time visitor to Margaret River with kids, you should seriously spend your time planning.
You’ll often find blogs that refer to Margaret River activities that include things in Busselton, which is some 100 km north of Augusta that is also referred to as the Margaret River region. And between those two extremes are Dunsborough, Yallingup, Hamelin Bay, and of course Margaret River Town.
In writing about family friendly Margaret River, we will do our best to help you plan a great family getaway. Especially if you have small kids, you don’t want to spend your holiday driving from place to place. You could easily spend most of your days in your car.
We recommend focusing on either the Northern Margaret River area (that includes Busselton, Dunsborough and Yallingup) or the Southern Margaret River area (that includes the town, Cowaramup, Hamelin Bay and Augusta).
Quick ideas for a successful visit to Margaret River with kids
- Plan to spend the majority of your time in one area or the other. Either that or you will spend a lot of time driving.
- Involve the kids in planning your trip so they can feel like they have had a say.
- Double check opening hours before you go. Some wineries only open on weekends or by appointment.
- Have a plan, but be flexible enough to change the plan when you see great spot you’d like to stop and visit.
Great Outdoor Kids Activities Margaret River

Explore the Best Beaches Near Margaret River
The coast around Margaret River is as stunning as you will find anywhere in the world, and one of the top Margaret River family activities is visiting the beautiful beaches. White sands, turquoise waters, but also incredible rock formations due to the geology of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste Ridge are a real highlight.
We expected the white sands, but we were amazed by the weathering and erosion of the different colored rocks at several different places.

Marg’s (as it is known fondly in Western Australia) is famous as a world-class surf destination and the waves are incredible. However, there are lots of more sheltered swimming options for kids as well. You can’t go wrong with the Margaret River beaches, that is for sure!
Northern Area:
- Meelup Beach near Dunsborough is sheltered, and gorgeous. The whole of Geographe Bay is sheltered and offers a variety of family suitable swimming spots.
- Yallingup Beach and Canal Rocks are stunning, but neither are suitable for children to swim.
Indijup Spa is definitely not recommended for families wanting to swim.
Southern Area:
- Prevelly Beach Rivermouth is good for kayaks and SUPs.
- Gnarabup Beach is quite good for children.
- Hamelin Bay is a fave year-round for the stingrays and walks up on the cliffs. Also, the Waterwheel Beach nearby to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse is attractive. One of the top things for kids to do in Augusta is gorgeous Flinders Bay, and it offers safe swimming.
- Hamelin Bay Bonus: – If you are lucky you will see the stingrays that congregate here during the summer months.

Surfing lessons
Home to the Margaret River Masters and other famous surf events, the name Margaret River is synonymous with surfing. With so many beaches along this stretch of coast, you can pick a break and a surf instructor that suits your style.
For example, operating at the Redgate Beach, The Margaret River Surf School is family owned and operated by Jarrad and his wife Domani, who have over 15 years of surf coaching experience. Another option is the Margaret River Surf Academy where you can also do 1 on 1 or a group lessons, alternatively if you book 3 lessons for your kids in a package your kids can build on their skills over a few days.

Visit the Cows in Cowaramup
This cute little cow-town has taken country innovation to a new level. Cowaramup is now full of amazing black and white Friesian Cows that inhabit the main street and are found in all sorts of places. The kids love visiting this town, as well as its amazing sweet shop!
Our kids loved discovering all the different cows. That is why it is on our list of top Margaret River activities for kids.

Visit a Lighthouse in Margaret River
The Margaret River Region is blessed with not one, but two amazingly attractive lighthouses. Perhaps it is a testament to the wild and woolly coastline in this area!
Tall and imposing, both lighthouses capture the kid’s imagination and are a photographer’s dream. Visiting a lighthouse here must be on your list of things to do in Margaret River for families.

Located in the North of the Margaret River region, the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse is an easy climb and offers stunning views over the surrounding areas.
Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse marks the Southern end of the Margaret River region and ticks the boxes for people who like the biggest/tallest and landmarks. It is Australia’s tallest mainland lighthouse, located at the most south-westerly tip of Australia. The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse also has a lookout where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet – which is a cool fact. Find out more here about Cape Leeuwin guided tours.

Ride Fat Bikes in the forest
If you (like me!) are wondering what fat bikes are, they are basically bicycles with fat (some say obese) tires! This gives the bikes much better traction, suspension, and flotation – meaning a really fun bike ride for the whole family.
The bikes are so much fun to ride. The tour takes you through the forest to the impressive coastal view, and the fat bikes make it easier to see and have those amazing experiences that will stay in your mind for years to come.
The Fat Bike Tours are also run by Cam of Margaret River Adventure company. All reviews rave about Cam’s knowledge, enthusiasm and professionalism in sharing the Margaret River region with the world. The bikes they use are use high quality specialized Fatboys as their bike of choice for their lightness, quality components and proven off road ability.
Mazes and Mini Golf
Mazes are lots of fun for kids, as they run about trying to find the right way to go. Most parents can only afford the time/energy for one maze, so it is worthwhile to know a little bit about the differences.
Yallingup Amaze’n Maze and Mini Golf
While the Yallingup maze has been known as a fun place for families and friends to visit, in 2022 they expanded the amount of fun on offer. They opened a world class mini golf course that features cascading waterfalls and beautiful gardens. I Each green has a harder and easier hole, meaning kids can play with adults with both being challenged. If you are interested in knowing more about the best Margaret River waterfalls, read our expert guide!
And if that wasn’t enough, this family owned business also has playgrounds, shaded picnic areas, coffee and a shop.
The Boranup Forest Maze is very different – rustic, but fun for the kids all the same.
Golf Gardens
We haven’t checked this one out personally but the Golf Gardens are located in Metricup and offer coffee, cold drinks, and home made pizza. They offer both Mini Golf and Big Ball Golf.

Margaret River Historic Precinct
Located right across the river from the Margaret River Rotary Park is the lovely Historic Precinct where you feel as if you have stepped back in time.
I love the old Bramley School & Group Settlement house buildings surrounded by farming implements, tools, renovated spring carts, an old dairy, a “dunny” and milk shed. There are some great murals, and you get an interesting glimpse into the early life of the Margaret River district.
Hairy Marron Café & Bicycle Hire

If you want to see how the kids like bike riding then you should head to the Hairy Marron. They are located right next to the Historic Precinct and on the banks of the Margaret River. They have a huge fleet of Giant hire bikes as well as in-depth local trail knowledge to match.
In a gorgeous setting you can fuel up with coffee, cakes, slices and light lunches, before hitting the trails. If you’ve had an incident on your own bike or theirs, they have expert bike mechanics on hand to help you with your repairs.
Fast Fact – The Hairy Marron actually exists!
Cherax tenuimanus, known as the hairy marron or Margaret River marron, is one of two species of crayfish in Southwest WA known as marron.
The Hairy Marron is a threatened freshwater, with only a small number of mature animals left in the wild; living in the Margaret River.
Short Walks and Hikes Around Margaret River

So far on this list, we’ve included rather sedentary indulgent activities. Margaret River is most certainly known as a place for kicking back and enjoying fine food and wine.
However, it is also a nature lover’s paradise! We’d suggest that to get your best out of the region, do allow some time for a short walk. Not only do you get to get out and enjoy nature, but the kiddos also get to burn off energy.
If you are looking to spot some of Western Australia’s famous wildflowers, check out our post Where to Find the Best Wildflowers in Western Australia.
We enjoyed our walks around Hamelin Bay (part of the famous Cape to Cape Track) and also a short walk in the Boranup Forest.
Another spectacular family activity in the Margaret River area is the Cape Naturaliste to Sugarloaf Rock walk, which is the first section of the famous Cape to Cape Track, and starts at the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse.
This walk is perfect for families with little kids as it is all paved and therefore suitable for prams. It is 3.5km one way (downhill from the Lighthouse) offering tantalizing views of Sugarloaf Rock as you get closer to it.
The best thing about this walk? We were having major meltdowns from 2 out of 3 kids at the end of the walk. So, we called a taxi and they came and took us back to our hotel! So keep in mind that is an option if everyone is fractious.

Margaret River town (near the playground in Rotary Park) provides a great walking hub, with a range of walks leaving from the playground. For example you can take the multipurpose (cycling or walking) 15km trail to the Ten Mile Brook Dam . This very pretty trail follows the river and has picnic stops along the way.
Another great option for the hiking family is the Wooditjup (Bramley) National Park, and specifically the Carter Road Trail Head, located just a few kilometres out of town.
The longest trail is the 3.4km Big Brook Walk, an easy circuit trail that follows the Bramley Brook. While another option for families is the The Old Chimney Walk, a 2.7km round trip walk that visits an old chimney and the mill at Wharncliffe.
Highly recommended is the Quinninup Falls walk which is another section of the Cape to Cape track.
Coasteering
Coasteering in Margaret River is number 1 on our bucket list for our next trip to Margs. My older kids will be 12 and 8 and they have watched the videos of people doing what appears to be daring adventures in the ocean and they are totally inspired.
Basically coasteering is like mountain climbing in the water, and challenging yourself in a safe way. We can’t wait to experience the ocean around Margaret River in this way.
They want to elegantly backflip into the water, and zip line across the ocean and the other awesome things we have seen people who do coasteering with Cam do!
Best Things to do in Margaret River with Kids (in Winter or Rainy Weather!)

Visit a Cave in the Margaret River Region
The ancient caves around Margaret River formed approximately 1 million years ago and there are over 150 highly decorated limestone caves beneath the surface of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge. Visitors are lucky that a number of these fairy-tale grotto’s are open to the public. Some of them are filled with lights, others are guided, and others an adventure that includes scrambling through tight areas. Each one is different and it is worth doing some research as to which one suits your family! We have a complete guide to the Margaret River caves.
When visiting Margaret River with young children, Mammoth Cave is a good option as it is self-guided meaning the kids can go at their own pace (and make plenty of noise when there was no one around). It was a great experience and one we recommend. Perhaps the most beautiful of the caves is Lake Cave. However, it has a lot of steps and might not be the best option for people with small kids.
A good option for families staying near Busselton or Dunsborough is Ngilgi Cave, which has a guided tour. It was very colorful, but tended to be a bit limiting for the kids while the guide was talking.
Margaret River Wine Region Northern Area: Ngilgi Cave
Southern Area: Jewel Cave (The biggest show cave in Western Australia!)

Wow Illusions
We loved our visit to Wow Illusions! It is a very funky indoor optical illusion centre. Even if you are not into taking photos, there are crazy puzzles and the kids will have fun just running about and being silly. E
veryone will enjoy Wow Illusions, and there is also a big grassed area outside for kicking the footy and a little café. Definitely one of the best rainy day activities in Margaret River!
Ninjas in M Ocean
If its really raining and you have kids that need to burn off some energy head to Margaret River’s indoor play zone and cafe, aimed at ages 1- 12. These 1.5 hour sessions will see them jumping and tumbling in this indoor play centre. Bring clean socks.
Animal Related Things to do in Margaret River with Kids

Enjoy a Margaret River Animal Farm
One of the best kid’s activities Margaret River is to visit an animal farm, with lots of friendly farm animals. I would say that Margaret River animal farm experiences are amongst the most popular things to do in the area – and with good reason!
There are a lot of establishments offering farming experiences and the chance to get close to the animals. You could consider doing an overnight at a farm stay. For example, Taunton Farm gets good reviews.
We have stayed at the highly-rated Sunflowers Animal Farm Margaret River. There were a wide range of animals for petting and one of the best things is staying on site is that you get to visit the animals after hours. The tractor ride was a highlight and its definitely a great place for any family trip to the Margaret River.

Meet the Hamelin Bay Stingrays
Some local stingrays have become a tourist attraction at Hamelin Bay. If you go down to the old jetty pylons, on clear days when the waves are not too big the Hamelin Bay stingrays are easy to see as as they search for food around the old jetty pylons and in the shallows along the beach.
If you are lucky you can stand on the white sand beach or in ankle-deep water and be very close to these huge rays which measure up to 2 metres across.
I’ll admit, given we often visit Margaret river in winter, and have even camped at Hamelin Bay in the Spring, we have never seen the Stingrays ourselves.
We need to remind ourselves that the best time to see the stingrays is summer when there is less seaweed and is calmer. Your best chance to see them is in the morning between 9am-10am.
Don’t forget – the stingrays at Hamelin Bay beach are protected and must not be harmed – plus they are still wild animals, so a healthy distance is wise.

Eagles Heritage Raptor Wildlife Centre
Eagles Heritage Raptor and Wildlife Centre is home to one of the largest collection of Eagles, Hawks, Falcons and Owls in Australia. They have daily shows at 11am and 1.30pm and we would strongly recommend visiting at one of those times. You can learn how the birds use their extraordinary abilities to track and catch prey, and watch how they swoop from the treetops to catch their food.
In addition to the flight display, your visit to Eagles Heritage includes a self-guided 1km through native forest.
All visits support the centre’s upkeep as they rehabilitate and care for wild birds that need special care. These are not birds you’ll usually see in captivity, and it’s a privilege to get up (relatively) close to such wildlife.

Discover Deadly
Discover Deadly is a really unique educational experience that is well worth a visit to both educate the adults and kids about Australian reptiles, amphibians and spiders.
It is a small centre, mostly undercover, so is a good rainy day activity in Margaret River. We would strongly recommend attending at one of the animal feeding times – they were 10.30am and 1.30pm to add context to the visit. Allow about 1 hour.
Anniebrook Farm & Flower Emporium
Located at Carbunup River (near Discover Deadly) Anniebrook Farm has been a place on our radar for a while. Based on a working farm you can meet farm animals, including sheep, goats, cows, guinea pigs and chooks. Another option would be to sign up for the ‘Anniebrook Farm Tours’.

Horse Riding Margaret River
Horse riding Margaret River has been on our bucket list for years. Our horse-mad daughter spotted an ad in the Margaret River brochure and was devastated to find out that it was for minimum age 10 years.
The idea of seeing the sights and sounds of the Australian Bush from horseback sounds pretty amazing to me too. So the idea is that we will have a mother-daughter ride the next time we visited Margaret River.

There are two great places to go horse riding Margaret River!
One is the Humble Horse and the other is Jesters Flat, located at Rosa Brook.
We are already booked for the Humble Horse and hoping also to get a ride in at Jesters Flat. Stay tuned as we will be hoping to get you lots of information about what to look out for when horse riding Margaret River, including useful tips on choosing a horse ride.
Update: We did get in a great ride at Jesters Flat. We love horseback riding in Margaret River so much we even wrote a post about it. Read The Best Places for Horse Riding in Margaret River.

Whale Watching Margaret River
OMG, doing whale watching Margaret River is a ‘must-do’ things to do in Margaret River in winter! Why is that – because it’s the best season to see the Humpback and Southern Right whales! The Humpbacks are seen in their annual migration from May to August, right in the heart of the winter.
We are planning to do a cruise with Whalewatch Western Australia which offers a luxury catamaran with many viewing decks and family-friendly facilities. Check here for information on luxury whale watching tours.
We can’t wait to report back on the whale watching Margaret River. This is one of the best things to do in Margaret River in winter.

Places to Eat and Drink in Margaret River with Kids
Visit Some Kid-Friendly Wineries Margaret River
It’s a hard life but someone’s got to do it. On our upcoming winter escape, we have a list of family-friendly Margaret River wineries that we plan to check out and report back on here soon. As there are several on the list I am sure we will come up with a very family-friendly winery Margaret River as our top pick! Nearby you will discover a wealth of options at Busselton Breweries.

The fame of Margaret River Wine Region is now well established across the world. For families, there are plenty of options of which combine a cellar door + wine/beer + food + playgrounds andsome of the best establishments offer all of them! If the kids are content on the playground there is no reason why you can’t indulge in the joys of wine tasting, right?
So far, we have enjoyed the following family-friendly wineries. This is, however, a work in progress and we have a number of places on our list for our next visit, including Leeuwin Estate and Cullen Wines. If you have a fave kid-friendly winery in the Margaret River area please drop it in the comments as we are open to suggestions!

Xanadu, Margaret River
With plenty of places to play, a playground, and delicious food, you can’t go wrong. Check here for more information about Xanadu Margaret River.
Located in the northern part of the Margaret River Region

Swings and Roundabouts Winery

Aravina Estate
With a great fenced in playground and large grassy lawns the Aravina Estate is another of the best family friendly wineries Margaret River that we have enjoyed. Delicious pizza is also on the menu here.
In fact, Aravina Estate is like a one stop shop for a successful family outing. They also have the WA Surf Gallery and Sports Car Gallery which are very well presented, as well as a homewares and local produce shop.
They often have live music out on the lawn on the weekends, so it’s worth checking out their website for the latest info.
Looking for a Wine Tour of the Margaret River Wine Region. There are so many to choose from. Here are some of our favorites below.
Visit a Margaret River Brewery!

In addition to the amazing wineries, breweries are now firmly stamping their mark on this region which has loads of fine foodie events. There are many breweries in Margaret River to choose from, each one with their distinct brews and activities.
However, our favorite brewery without a doubt has to be Cheeky Monkey Brewery Margaret River. It is truly one of the top things to do in Margaret River with kids. With good food and a top ambiance we love it. For the kiddos, there is a well-equipped playground, a jetty, and a creek all to keep them entertained. Read our Cheeky Monkey Brewery Margaret River Review here.
Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth in Margaret River
As an established foodie paradise, eating has to be high on the list of things to do in Margaret River. Also, if you like sweet stuff; there are certainly some delectable treats that you and the kiddos will enjoy.
Candy Cow in Cowaramup

If you are stopping at Cowaramup, then don’t miss the Candy Cow – one of our favourites!
Simmos Ice Creamery In Dunsborough
Simmos Ice Creamery in Dunsborough is mouth-wateringly delicious, with over 60 super creative flavors to choose from. Plus, they have a fun park and mini-golf on the grounds, so you can make it a winner with the kids as well as enjoying the ice-cream.
Colony Concept

Just up the road from Wow Illusions is The Colony Concept in Metricup, which has an interesting little museum/ information centre about the lifecycle of the bees, and you can also see a beehive in action.
Their shop stocks a wide variety of honey, and bee merchandise and we made several tasty purchases to take home.

Margaret River Chocolate Co.
I’ll admit; I have never taken my kids to the Margaret River Chocolate Company. It has always looked full. It also looks difficult for my sensory challenged neurodivergent child who goes crazy on chocolate.
That said, I have a good friend who always take her kids to the Margaret River Chocolate Company as they have a nice café where you can ice-cream, sweets and hot drinks either inside or outside. Her kids love the big grassed area, where they can run around or play in the tee pee and balancing logs.
Don’t forget – there is free chocolate sampling at the Margaret River Chocolate factory! There are spoons in bowls of dark, milk and white chocolate!
Berry Farm
Located just a short drive from Margaret River townsite, the Berry Farm is located in the Rosa Glen district. There is a nature based playground and the grounds are great for both kids and dogs.
The garden filled with lovely birds. At the Berry Farm, you can taste homemade jams, preserves and sauces, sparking fruit wines and liqueurs, ciders and vinegar.
Alternatively, you can have lunch/morning tea or dine at the Cottage Café while the kids burn off some energy on the playground. We always take some jams home to enjoy.
Millers Ice-Cream

Just as tasty is Millers Ice-Cream in Cowaramup. Millers Ice cream is a bit of a drive off the main road. However, it has a great play area, and feels connected to the farming land. There are great cows that kids can pretend to milk and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit here.
Margaret River Playgrounds (Free Things to Do!)

Margaret River Playground
Never forget that there are plenty of FREE Things to do in Margaret River with kids – like Margaret River playgrounds. We always break up our “touring” days with time at playgrounds!
The Margaret River Rotary Park
Located in the Margaret River township, the Rotary Park on the banks of the Margaret River has always been on our “must stop” list in Margs. The kids have always loved the ship playground, and there are also a range of exercise equipment that they have fun on.
In this day and age of incredible state of the art playgrounds, this one is pretty “normal”. But, in all honesty, I feel like my kids have an equally good time. They also enjoy heritage steam engine ‘Old Kate’. There are public toilets, BBQ’s and picnic tables.
Margaret River Skate Park and Youth Precinct
Located at the other end of town (from Rotary Park) the Margaret River Skate Park is pretty new. The Skate park boasts a half pipe with extension, a bowl, wave ramp, ¼ pipe, fun box and numerous roll-ins and hips. This park is ideal for all levels of skating from beginners to advanced levels. There is a BMX track at the Youth Precinct.
The Margaret River Region boasts five skate parks in Busselton, Dunsborough, Cowaramup, Margaret River & Augusta. So, if the kids are never separated from their bikes or scooters you will be spoiled for choice, wherever you go!
Other Playgrounds in the Region
If you are looking for things for kids to do in Augusta (apart from visiting the fantastic Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse or doing some Margaret River whale watching) then we enjoyed the playground in Augusta very much! As it’s quite a long drive down to Augusta with kids, I think that the mood of the entire traveling party was better for the break!
Yallingup has a nice little playground near the surfer statue. It’s nautically themed and kept our kids playing for quite a while.

Day Trips from Margaret River with Kids
You know, as a Western Australian local it’s a pet hate of mine when I see people visiting an area once and then describing a place as “Things to do in Margaret River” when they are clearly NOT in Margaret River. And – because of the way the internet works, I have to include these in my list because of the way Google ranks pages!
Things to do in Fremantle with Kids
Fremantle is just a 3-hour drive from Margaret River, making it a perfect day or weekend getaway with kids! Along the way, there are plenty of lovely places to stop and explore. If you’re interested in more tips for traveling with kids to Fremantly, check out this other great resource: The BEST Things to Do in Fremantle for kids
Things to do in Dunsborough for Kids
Dunsborough is located on Geographe Bay some 40 minutes north of Margaret River. Along with its next door neighbor Busselton, there is a whole coast of family friendly activities just waiting for you! Take a look at our Things to do in Dunsborough.

Simmos Ice Cream and Mini Golf
A visit to Simmos is always on our list when we visit Dunsborough with kids. This is the original Simmos. There are so many delicious ice-cream flavours to choose from you will find the kids salivating as they are trying to make up their mind. Adult palates might be inspired by Whiskey Prune, Lemon Cheesecake or Tiramisu.
There is a nice grassed area and they have a new playground as well. Simmos is dog friendly for a nice family day out.
We normally go for a round of mini Golf while at Simmos. The kids have lots of fun working up an appetite for the ice-creams. Plus, the course is not too hard for them.

Par 3 Mini Golf Dunsborough
Giving Simmos Mini Golf a run for its money is the new Par 3 Mini Golf. It is located at the Old Broadwater Farm in Busselton and is a good option if you have been to Simmos a few times. The 18 hole mini golf course is very pretty set amongst the Peppermint trees. Not so much suited to kids, but there is also a nine hole golf course on the site.
The Neighbourhood Bar and Café has not only coffee but a range of boutique wines, spirits and craft beers. This means that you can relax with a drink of choice after finishing the course.
Xscape at the Cape
The jury is out on Xscape at the Cape. Every time we have driven past the kids have shouted “we want to go there”! It looks heaps of fun with a huge water park packed with people.
Somehow it has never worked that we went there: too hot, too cold, etc. Then I read the reviews which said it was a bit tired. I didn’t feel like paying for a full day use when we were going to be there for half a day.
We will one day go – and high on the agenda is the Amaze n Lazer Tag, Mini golf, and all the different activities like trampolines and waters slides.

Next Level Monkey Business
Located next to Clancy’s Fish Pub the Next Level Monkey business is ropes course and zip line and we recently visited during the April School Holidays.
There are different levels according to kid’s ages. There is Cheeky Chimps for ages 4+, Mini Monkeys for ages 9+ and Great Gorillas for 13+. The whole area is pretty bushland and kids can go over rope walks, net bridges, tunnels and other obstacle. Online booking is recommended to get the time you want.
Things to do in Busselton with Kids
In our opinion, Busselton really is a destination in its’ own right and definitely is a popular spot. We consider it the most family friendly in the south west area. It really shouldn’t really be tacked onto a Margaret River with Kids post.
The Busselton Jetty is located a 30-minute drive from Dunsborough or a 45-minute drive from Margaret River town itself. (Though it can be confusing given all the other areas that are referred to as Margaret River.)
At the heart of Busselton is the Busselton Jetty area. The longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere, it quite literally stretches off into the distance!
For little kids a ride on the Busselton Jetty train will be enough for them to smile for hours. However, older ones will get more from the Underwater Observatory (Busselton Jetty Natural Aquarium). On our bucket list is doing the underwater Mermaid tour, bound to catch the little one’s attention! Once you reach the older years fishing from the jetty or swimming at the beach is also lots of fun.
In the immediate jetty precinct area there are playgrounds for all different areas, plus the Shelter Brewery and other restaurants. In summer time there is also a fairground with rides and games. It really makes you feel like you have stepped back in time.
