If you’re looking for the best Albany family accommodation, choosing the right place to stay can make the trip much easier. From holiday parks and motels to beachside apartments and larger self-contained stays, plenty of options suit different family sizes, budgets and travel styles.
In this guide, we’ve rounded up eight of our top places to stay, with options around Middleton Beach, Emu Point and Albany city centre. We’ve focused on properties that offer good value, useful facilities and great locations for exploring the area’s beaches, playgrounds, and family attractions.
Many of our picks are self-contained, giving you more flexibility with meals and day-to-day family life, while several are within easy reach of two fantastic playgrounds. A few of the properties are located next to one another, but each offers something slightly different.
We’ve also included practical tips to help you compare your options and find the right stay for your family.

Choosing the Perfect Family Stay
- Consider how much space and which facilities your family will need: Self-contained apartments and holiday homes can be great for longer stays, but Holiday parks are another popular choice if you’re looking for plenty to do on-site. Motels can be a great budget-friendly alternative for shorter stays if you don’t need a kitchen setup.
- Consider the area you want to stay in: Middleton Beach is ideal for a family trip, with playgrounds, restaurants, fantastic accommodation options, and the beach’s white sands within easy reach. We would recommend Middleton Beach if you’re visiting with kids for the first time. Alternatively, Emu Point works well for a quieter beach holiday, but you’ll still have everything you need. A stay in Albany CBD is ideal for restaurants and sightseeing.
Albany can be busy during school holidays and peak travel periods, so booking months ahead gives you more choice.
