9 of the Best Luxury Camping and Perth Glamping Ideas: 2026 Guide

Last Updated on 5 May 2026 by Ariana Svenson

We’re here to share with you the best Perth glamping and luxury camping ideas. In our busy lives, we all seem to be time poor, and yet yearn for meaningful and authentic breaks. What could be more restful than connecting with nature and sleeping under the stars in comfort? And secondarily, not having to put the tents up yourself!

Within a two-hour radius of Perth, there are some really interesting spots for glamping. We also cover Rottnest Island glamping options (or glamping on Rotto for the locals)!

Unlike some of Western Australia’s most famous glamping spots (like Sal Salis or Karajini Eco Retreat) these glamping occasions are more about the getaway and connecting with nature than a world famous getaway. Not to say the spots aren’t beautiful in nature, but custom-built safari tents in some of the most unique regions of the world are about the location as well as the glamping experience.

Why Go Glamping in Perth?

I guess you are wondering why glamping in Perth is a good idea? I mean, wouldn’t it be better to just head to a hotel a couple of hours from Perth for a fun weekend getaway

Firstly, most of these locations are a short 1-2 hour drive (or ferry for Rotto flamping) from Perth, meaning that you can finish work on a Friday and still be at your Perth glamping spot before dark in the warmer months when the days are longer.

You get to connect with nature! These days’ scientists and wellbeing experts can’t emphasize enough the value of being in the fresh air, connecting with the trees, sky and through this connecting getting a sense of well-being.

With your camp set up, you can relax instantly; there is no setting up chores or unpacking. It’s just like a hotel but outdoors, and often luxurious with all the comforts of home. As one of the glamping places suggested, it’s million-star accommodation!

Also, these places offering luxury camping Perth are often a little bit out of the way, which means that you are either forced to log off (due to lack of signal) or it’s easier to do so. Spend time around a fire with the family, go for a walk and stay off the devices. It’s a sensational way to reset!

Finally, some aspect of glamping appeals to most everyone. It is an amazing way to connect for couples, a great environment for people to ease into the idea of camping, or it is an all-around blast for families.

2. Lake Brockman Glamping

Location: Glamping tents overlooking Logue Brook Dam.

Distance from Perth: Lake Brockman is located 1 hr 33 min (136.1 km) from Perth.

This adults-only glamping experience is located in the forest overlooking the beautiful Lake Brockman. Each glamping tent includes a queen-sized bed, linens, basic kitchen equipment, and a private balcony with BBQ facilities. This is a more primitive glamping experience with no running water; however, a water tub is supplied. Consider this a fancy camping experience.

Also to know, it can get quite chilly at Lake Brockman in the winter months. So even though linens are provided, it is suggested you also bring extra blankets to stay cozy.

It is also good to know that Lake Brockman is a popular site for motor boats, so there is often a lot of noise from loud watercraft buzzing around on the lake. Sometimes the boats also play loud music. There were also quite a few parties going on when we stayed there. Reading reviews for this Perth glamping location seems to indicate a similar experience.

However, that is not to deny that the reviews are really complimentary. Most reviewers comment on how stunning the location is, which is easy access to the lakeside. That the staff are incredibly friendly and most would return again in a heartbeat!

Location: In Wellington National Park, overlooking the Wellington Dam.

While the Potters Gorge glamping experience is a little further away than the other places on this list (and a little more camping and less luxury), it’s an excellent opportunity to give comfort camping a go in truly spectacular surroundings. This is the best option for a short stay or long weekend to enjoy the natural surroundings and natural beauty of Potters Gorge. Enjoy board games with the family, view the native wildlife, or explore the native bush.

Large robust camping tents keep you dry from the weather, while duvets and camp beds keep you warm. It is a cosy accommodation. You are in the existing Potters Gorge Campground (eg, with the other campers) and need to use the shared facilities and camp fire rings/barbecues so this is a wonderful way to test out this style of travel. For more information about Potters Gorge itself, read our Complete Potters Gorge, Wellington Dam, Honeymoon Pool Camping Reviews.

A Perth Glamping option that is on our personal bucket list, the Buckland Estate Glamping tents, located around 15 minutes from Northam and a 1.5-hour drive from the Perth CBD. The ideal place to base yourself to watch the sunrise over the Avon Valley on a Northam hot air balloon flight!

7. Glamping in the Perth Hills

There are other Perth glamping experiences around the Perth hills that look amazing but their customer service representatives were really unfriendly so I hope that they don’t treat their clients that way!

Rottnest Island, short trips from perth, Perth Weekend Trips, Quokkas

8. Rottnest Glamping / Eco Tent Glamping on Rotto

Location:  Located on Rottnest Island, behind Pinky Beach at Discovery Rottnest Island Eco Resort.

Distance from Perth:  To access Rottnest Island glamping, you will need to take a ferry from Perth. Depending on where you depart in Perth, it can take anywhere from 25 to 90 minutes to reach Rotto.  It is then a 1km walk from the jetty through the township of Rottnest to reach Discovery Rottnest. It is important to know that this island is car-free. If you have mobility issues please contact Discover Rottnest directly to arrange a transfer.

Possibly Western Australia’s newest glamping opportunity, located a short ferry ride from Perth. This is one of the Perth glamping opportunities we want to try most. It seems like a great place with gorgeous views out across the Indian Ocean.

From deluxe oceanside eco-friendly tents, to a wide range of superior canvas tents and accessible options there is something for everyone here. We also love that this is actually a resort, with a pool onsite (one of the only ones on Rottnest) and restaurant.

Like everywhere in Western Australia it has been hard to get employees, and perhaps because they were so new they never had a chance to establish processes and procedures which make the difference between an luxury polished experience and a pretty average one.

Locals know that getting accommodation on Rottnest is hard – you have to book 9 months in advance, on a certain day and really know the procedures! I like that Discovery Parks Rottnest Glamping alleviates that problem to some degree. It seems that they have availability most of the time and I’m guessing it’s because of the tent concept / and that the reviews to date haven’t been great.

Remember, if you are going to opt for this Rottnest glamping accommodation, it is camping. You are on an island, which means that in bad weather a storm can really whip around the canvas tents (or maybe just a brisk coastal breeze will make some sound)! Also, this is a campsite, and those familiar with camping will know that campsites are really noisy in the mornings – actually from dawn!  You don’t go camping, even luxury camping, if you are expecting a sleep in, it doesn’t work that way!

There is no Wi-Fi or television in the tents because this is an eco-tent experience. The idea is to disconnect from your devices and reconnect to loved ones. They also do not have a private bathroom. However, they do offer private decks with with breathtaking views.

There are a wide range of camping options, we have chosen to review just two here. The family tents which comfortably sleep up to 5 and the Deluxe Oceanside Tents which is a premium experience that even receives a daily housekeeping service.

Reviews indicate that upgrading to the deluxe options seems worth it. Also, the proximity to the beach, facilities, and restaurant while still enjoying a secluded camping feeling is nice.

Take note that negative reviews tend to mention price and weather. It seems that even though the glamping tents are well constructed, it can be downright cold during inclement weather. The time of year for your anticipated stay should be taken into consideration. For the price, if the weather is predicted to be less than favorable, perhaps a different accommodation, such as a hotel room, should be explored.

Other Glamping near Perth Options

9. Heavenly Waters

Location: From Perth it’s a 1 hr 16 min (77.1 km) via Toodyay Rd.

Set on 130-acres, Heavenly Waters is an adults only luxury eco camping experience, not a family friendly retreat. Located about an hour from Perth, this is a great glamping near Perth option that gives you a chance to explore the Avon Valley.  We imagine this would be a next level romantic getaway option.

The accommodations are fully off-grid, however solar provides enough electricity to charge your phone or run a small appliance, like a fan, in summer. The first eco-tent, Nolans Camp, offers a king bed, en suite bathroom, kitchen, and lounge area. During chilly nights you can relax around a soothing fire pit.

This seems like an intriguing luxury glamping Perth option, however we could not find any reviews on-line for Heavenly Waters. In addition, attempts to reach out to them via email where unsuccessful as they did not return our email request for more information.

For more information, visit the Heavenly Waters website.
