Denham Accommodation WA: The 9 Best Options in 2026

Last Updated on 22 January 2026 by Ariana Svenson

Looking for the best accommodation in Denham, Western Australia? There are some fantastic options to choose from!

Denham is a bustling coastal town and one of the best places to base yourself to explore the Shark Bay World Heritage Area and have easy access to the beautiful beaches. Monkey Mia is another solid choice. Make sure you read my comparison of Shark Bay Accommodation—Denham vs. Monkey Mia before making your decision.

Denham has plenty of accommodation options and all the facilities you need, from supermarkets to fuel stations and souvenir shops.

I’ve created a map of the top Denham accommodation options so you can get your bearings.

Blue Lagoon campsite is also a top choice but further north.

Accommodation in Denham, WA: Top Picks

Although the Shar Bay Heritage Area is one of the top places to visit in Western Australia, I’ve found accommodation in Denham can be pretty inconsistent with varying standards. A common theme amongst accommodations in Denham is owner-operated run cottages that are not being renovated and very casual customer service.

That’s why, if you choose to base yourself in Denham, it’s really important that you read reviews and look into where you’re staying properly.

Here are some of my top recommended places to stay in Denham:

1. Oceanside Village Shark Bay: The Best Beachfront Accommodation Denham Has

Location: 117 Knight Terrace, Denham

Oceanside Village is the best option in town, with a fantastic location right on the beachfront. It has fully equipped and fully self-contained accommodation and amazing hosts.

The beach is peaceful here, so you can kick back and enjoy the sun, and there is plenty of space for kids to play.

All villas are air-conditioned and have kitchenettes and a spacious living room area, with some also including spectacular ocean views. The outdoor swimming pool, BBQ area, and fishing from the pier are also available.

Oceanside Village is close to the famous Shark Bay Discovery Centre and only a short drive (around 20 minutes) to Monkey Mia.

2. Wildsights Villas: A Solid Choice

Location: 8 Durlacher Street, Denham

Another good choice for Denham accommodation is Wildsights Villas. Perfectly located in the heart of town, tucked away just off the main road, it is a short walk from the beach and seafront, as well as shops, restaurants, and the picturesque town jetties, where you can book boat excursions.

You can book one—or two-bedroom villas, which are ideal if you prefer self-catering during your holiday. My villa was ample-sized, with a complete laundry and kitchen and a large outdoor area for long, lazy afternoons.

The Décor was slightly old-fashioned and faded, but it was large and well-spaced for a family or a couple wanting to spread out. There’s also a golf course and garden to explore.

The villas are clean and are of excellent value for money. The grounds looked a little old, like the décor, but it is a solid option, and I would stay there again.

3. Heritage Resort Shark Bay

Location: 73-75 Knight Terrace, Denham

Overlooking the waters of Shark Bay Beach, Heritage Resort is only a short walk from the bakery, restaurants, and pub.

You can head to Monkey Mia to watch dolphins and whales in just 25 minutes by car. There are plenty of great things to do in Monkey Mia!

The rooms at Heritage Resort are comfortable and clean, but the 4-star resort tag that comes with this hotel seems a bit debatable!

While the hotel may be a little outdated, all rooms are spacious, have AC, refrigerators, and tea/coffee-making facilities, and some include a balcony and ocean view. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool and bistro on site.

4. Shark Bay Seafront Apartments Denham

Location: 91 Knight Terrace, Denham

When you first spot Shark Bay Seafront Apartments, you’ll notice the palm-leaf umbrellas directly across from the ocean, which will quickly put you in the holiday mood.

Located opposite Denham Swimming Beach, the outdoor courtyard area offers fabulous sea views, a chance to visit the nearby shops, a BBQ, drink, and, of course, the sunset.

While the building is a little on the older side, apartments are comfortable, clean, spacious, and have everything you need.

If you don’t feel like cooking your own meals, The Old Pearler restaurant is just down the street.

5. Bay Lodge Denham

Location: 113 Knight Terrace, Denham

Bay Lodge offers absolute beachfront accommodation. Choose between budget rooms or larger, fully equipped apartments depending on your group. The lodge also has access to a great outdoor pool and BBQ area.

Bay Lodge has stunning views. It’s a short walk from the town centre and a 10-minute walk to Shark Bay Discovery Centre.

While this Denham accommodation might not be luxurious, it’s clean and comfortable for a good night’s sleep. Try to book a room with a sea view, as it’s worth waking up to!

6. Shark Bay Holiday Cottages

Location: 11 Knight Terrace, Denham, WA

Located directly by the beach in Denham, Shark Bay Holiday Cottages offer stunning sea views.

The cottages range from a one-room studio for a couple to three-bedroom units that sleep up to 8 people. Each has a verandah and sea view.

This is a no-frills option in Denham, so expect basic accommodation in standalone cottages. On the flip side, you will be staying in arguably one of the most beautiful spots in Shark Bay and only a short walk from the local pub!

Denham Pet-Friendly Accommodation

If you plan to take your pet on holiday to Denham, you’ll need to know where to stay.

From our list of Denham accommodations, two options mentioned as being pet-friendly are Wildsights Villas and Shark Bay Holiday Cottages. However, it is always best to contact the accommodation first to check whether the pet policy has changed and if any charges apply.

Another option is to consider a caravan park as this type of accommodation tends to be more pet-friendly. We’ll cover this next!

Caravan Parks in Denham

Denham is one of the top road trip stops in Western Australia. For inspiration, read my guides about the Perth to Kalbarri road trip, and things to do in Denham.

Here are some caravan parks to consider pitching at:

7. Tasman Holiday Park – Denham Seaside Caravan Park

Location: 1 Stella Rowley Dr, Denham

Excellent caravan park in an ideal location on the beach, within easy walking distance of local pubs, shops, and restaurants in the town.

Admire the stunning view, watch the boats bobbing in the water, and meet the local emus as they wander around the campsite.

Denham Seaside Caravan Park is huge, and the sites for your caravan are spacious, private, and easily accessible.

The facilities are great, too, including clean and modern bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, BBQs, a TV room, and table tennis. The site is also pet-friendly. Book early, as this place is super popular!

You can also opt for a chalet. One—and two-bedroom chalets, as well as villas with beautiful ocean views, are available.

8. Shark Bay Caravan Park

Location: 4/10 Spaven Way, Denham

Shark Bay Caravan Park is a neat, well-maintained park with easily accessible sites. The clean and tidy ablution blocks, spacious camp kitchen, BBQ area, and large swimming pool make for a comfortable stay. Plus, the park is pet-friendly.

Prices are reasonable, as you aren’t directly on the beachfront (only about 500 metres away), and the town centre is within walking distance.

Denham Camping

Camping is the perfect way to escape the stresses of daily life. The area has campsites listed above.

It’s worth noting that Shark Bay Caravan Park has hard ground (no grassy areas), so you will need some strength and tools to pitch your tent!

9. Big Lagoon Campsite

Another option is Big Lagoon Campsite, located in the beautiful Francois Peron National Park north of Denham. Crystal-clear waters, blue skies, and local wildlife await your visit. The stunning lagoon and plenty of opportunities to go fishing and kayaking are also nearby.

You will need a decent 4×4 to get there, and make sure to adjust your tyres for the soft sand at the pressure station. The campsite has sheltered decking, toilets, and BBQ facilities. Remember to take fresh drinking water with you.
